Bulgaria files applications to the EC for registration of yoghurt and white brined cheese as protected products

Bulgaria has filed applications for entry of Bulgarian yoghurt and white brined cheese as Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) in the European Register of Protected Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications for Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs. They are submitted by the Bulgarian Traditional Dairy Products Association. A commission at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry has  reviewed all  attached documents  and application specifications during the national application processing procedure.

Drop in fertiliser use slows down, but precision farming offers possibilities for further reductions

The European Commission released its market brief on fertiliserstoday. Focussing on the economic and environmental impact of fertilisers, the brief found that their use in the EU has stabilised in recent years. However, the adoption of precision farming technologies offers potential for more efficient usage.

Minister Taneva: Young farmers will be the focus of support policies and the CAP after 2020

Young farmers are the focus of support policies of the Common Agricultural Policy, they will continue to be the focus in the next programming period. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Desislava Taneva at the opening of the second National Forum of Young Farmers at the Agricultural University - Plovdiv, organised by the MEP from the European People's Party Vladimir Urutchev.
